Sophomore forestry students James Judge and Braxton Spurlin are continuing their lumberjack training over the summer and are actively competing in the South Atlantic Woodsman's Association (SAWA). In 2008, the HCC Lumberjack Coach, Jimmy Lawrence, took over leadership of the SAWA and Haywood Community College became a major sponsor of the association.
